GCSAA Pesticide Survey Use
As leaders in your profession we are asking for your help to achieve a strong finish to the pesticide use survey. Due to the time commitment to complete the survey we have extended the closing date for the survey to May 5, 2008.
We are encouraging all superintendents to complete the pesticide use survey to ensure adequate representation from all types of golf courses across the United States. Since growing conditions, and therefore pesticide use, are highly variable across the country, it is essential we have pesticide use data from across the country.
Results from the pesticide use survey will be used to advocate on your behalf. We will communicate the survey results to superintendents, the golf industry, state and federal officials and the public. An accurate portrayal of pesticide use on golf courses is our goal. With data you provide, we can factually address the pesticide issues that come before the golf industry.
It is far better for superintendents as the stewards and responsible parties for pesticide use on golf courses to provide this information to GCSAA rather than to let others establish the data about pesticide use on golf courses in your absence. All individual responses will remain confidential. Results will be presented as regional or national averages.
Everyone who completes the survey will receive .50 service points and will be entered into a drawing to win the grand prize: a 46-inch, flat-screen LCD TV valued at $2,500, as well as a drawing for one of the $250 gift cards to be awarded in each of the seven agronomic regions.
