Links Honors the Meadows as one of the top 25 College Courses
As recognized by LINKS Magazine, The Meadows Golf Club has been honored as one of the Top 25 College Golf Courses in the United States. Located in Allendale on the campus of Grand Valley State University, The Meadows was rated no. 22 and joined the University of Michigan Golf Course as the only Michigan courses on the prestigious list.
“We’re very proud of this recognition and what it says not only about the golf course but also about our broader educational mission,” said General Manager Terry Sack. “Our goal has been to be a place for healthy and enjoyable recreation and a common ground for students, alumni, faculty and the community.”
Host of six NCAA national golf championships with a seventh set for 2011, The Meadows is located only fifteen minutes west of downtown Grand Rapids. Designed by award-winning architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan, the course opened for play in 1994. It’s a windswept, links-style layout routed among wetlands yet conveniently located on the campus. The Meadows also serves as host for the annual Michigan High School Golf Finals as well as the Grand Valley Amateur and West Michigan Senior Amateur Championships.
