    Communications

    A Communication Committee shall be composed of at least two Members from each district.  At least two of these Members shall serve on the MiGCSA Board of Directors.  One Director shall serve as the chairman and one shall serve as the vice-chairman. It shall be the duty of this committee to provide the membership with information about the Association.  This committee will be responsible for the Web site (MiGCSA.org), Quarterly publication (Course Conditions), Membership Directory, and any other method of communication that shall advance the interest of the association.

     

    Responsibilities

    The committee will meet and discuss all publications and communications being distributed to MiGCSA members and interested parties.  The committee will relay, to the board of directors, feedback from the membership regarding publications and communications, as well as any ideas on how to improve upon and maintain effective communication with its members. 

     

    Meeting schedule as needed at the pleasure of the chair.

     

    January

                -January 1st deadline for executive director to have received all information needed to create the Winter Course Conditions magazine.

    -The chairman must discuss content and progress of Course Conditions magazine and website at BOD meeting. Also discuss any current issues or ideas from membership.

    -Chairman must organize annual meeting of committee members and the executive director to discuss Course Conditions content for the upcoming year. At close of the meeting each issue will have a rough outline finished.  The responsibility of contacting parties of interest related to the magazine content will be delegated to committee members.  Magazine content that the committee must determine includes but is not limited to: a feature article, superintendent profile, assistant superintendent profile, equipment technician profile, affiliate member profile, the “Presidents Perspective”, “Tips and Tricks”, “A Call From Campus”, a GCSAA Regional article, an “Association Update”, current events, and “Off Course”.

    -Committee members proof read and edit rough draft of Winter Course Conditions magazine.

     

    February

                -February 1st deadline for executive director to distribute Winter Course Conditions magazine to membership.

                -Chairman makes sure that all parties of interest for Spring Course Conditions magazine have all been contacted.  All contacts will be on schedule for April 1st deadline.

               

    March

                -Chairman continues to track and monitor progress of Spring Course Conditions magazine.

    -The chairman must discuss content and progress of Course Conditions magazine and website at BOD meeting. Also discuss any current issues or ideas from membership.

     

    April

                -April 1st deadline for executive director to have received all information needed to create the Spring Course Conditions magazine.

    -Committee members proof read and edit rough draft of Spring Course Conditions magazine.

     

    May

                -May 1st deadline for executive director to distribute Spring Course Conditions magazine to membership.

                – Chairman makes sure that all parties of interest for Summer Course Conditions magazine have all been contacted.  All contacts will be on schedule for July 1st deadline.

                -The chairman must discuss content and progress of Course Conditions magazine and website at BOD meeting. Also discuss any current issues or ideas from membership.

     

    June

                -Chairman continues to track and monitor progress of Summer Course Conditions magazine.

     

    July

                -July 1st deadline for executive director to have received all information needed to create the Summer Course Conditions magazine.

    -Committee members proof read and edit rough draft of Summer Course Conditions magazine.

                -The chairman must discuss content and progress of Course Conditions magazine and website at BOD meeting. Also discuss any current issues or ideas from membership.

     

    August

                -August 1st deadline for executive director to distribute Summer Course Conditions magazine to membership.

                – Chairman makes sure that all parties of interest for Fall Course Conditions magazine have all been contacted.  All contacts will be on schedule for October 1st deadline.

     

    September

                – Chairman continues to track and monitor progress of Fall Course Conditions magazine.

    – The chairman must discuss content and progress of Course Conditions magazine and website at BOD meeting. Also discuss any current issues or ideas from membership.

     

    October

                -October 1st deadline for executive director to have received all information needed to create the Fall Course Conditions magazine.

    -Committee members proof read and edit rough draft of Fall Course Conditions magazine.

     

    November

                -August 1st deadline for executive director to distribute Fall Course Conditions magazine to membership.

                – Chairman makes sure that all parties of interest for Winter Course Conditions magazine have all been contacted.  All contacts will be on schedule for December 1st deadline.

                -The chairman must discuss content and progress of Course Conditions magazine and website at BOD meeting. Also discuss any current issues or ideas from membership.

     

    December

    -Chairman continues to track and monitor progress of Winter Course Conditions magazine.

     

    Things to consider

                -Deadline dates are merely used as a general guideline for the usual timing of the Course Conditions magazine.  Current events and content among other things will change those deadlines moderately.
