Georgetown Country Club offers a unique, public, nine hole, par-3 golf course that has thrived for a half-century in the heart of Ann Arbor. The golf course is open to the public when not in use for member activities or league. It is a great place to practice your short game, to teach a beginner the love of the game or to simply get on and off a course in an hour or less. The club has a relaxed, friendly culture among members and guests.
The Golf Course Superintendent is an at-will, seasonal, salaried position that manages all aspects of golf course grounds, labor and equipment along with maintenance for the club other than the swimming pool. Takes care of application of pesticides and fertilizers, irrigation and golf course budget for staff and equipment. Interacts with staff and members in a positive manner. Works with and under the direction of the club’s management team and board of directors.
Two- or four-year degree in Turf Management.
Michigan Pesticide Application license or certificate.
Previous experience, working on a golf course.
Irrigation system experience
Mechanical skills and knowledge relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities excluding pool equipment.
Salary from March through October and unemployment benefits assistance for offseason if needed. Ability to select staff to assist on course. Club membership.
