    2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

    Red Run's reputation as one of the finest golf courses in the Midwest was established soon after its founding in 1914. Well over a century later, that commitment to the game, its traditions and its values remain. The course is renowned for combining challenge and playability as the immaculately-kept grounds have remained true to its original Willie Park, Jr. design.

    In September of 2021 Red Run will embark on a $2M renovation including all bunkers and tees.  The 2nd Assistant will be exposed to all aspects of the project including but not limited to drainage, bunker construction, tee construction, and irrigation improvements.

    This fall will also be a special time to put cultural practices on greens and fairways into overdrive.  The goal is to use this time not only to renovate the tees/bunkers but improve the playability and drainage in the poa annua greens and fairways.

    Job Description:

    The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will be a part of all maintenance and projects on the golf course and grounds.  Water management of putting surfaces using a TDR will be a big part of the summer routine.  We will are willing to train all aspects of the position.

    Requirements:

    Two or four year turf student with a great attitude and eagerness to learn.  We are looking for team players that want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
