Dearborn Country Club is a private, 18 hole facility in suburban Detroit. The club has been in existence since 1923 and maintains an active golfing membership with expectations of immaculate conditions. It has hosted The Mazda Senior Championship, The British Open Qualifier, various GAM events, along with state and national qualifiers.
The first assistant must have a strong work ethic with a developed attention to details. They must have the ability to train and monitor employees in daily maintenance procedures and safe equipment operation. They will assist in daily course set up and maintenance when and where needed. The assistant will ensure that quality standards are achieved. The first assistant must have a dedication to personal development, golf course improvements, along with problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
2 or 4 year degree in turf grass management.
Two plus years experience on a golf course with a thorough knowledge of the game of golf.
Must possess a Michigan pesticide applicators license in category 3A, or the ability to obtain within 30 days.
Ability to make chemical and fertilizer applications under the supervision of the superintendent and maintain records of such applications.
Ability to monitor and apply irrigation to the golf course and make necessary system repairs.
