Each year since 2011, the Golf Association of Michigan has presented the Superintendent Award of Merit to a deserving superintendent in Michigan. 


Receiving the GAM Superintendent Award of Merit is a special honor bestowed upon a superintendent who has demonstrated leadership, professionalism, good character and high standards of conduct through pursuits associated with golf course grounds maintenance and care. The nominee must be at least 30 years old and have been a golf course superintendent in Michigan for at least five years. Posthumous nominations are also acceptable.
